About Me

My photo
DJ UrbnLGnd
The brainchild of a young lover of music who had the vision and dedication to spend years mastering the dancefloor as a club and mobile dj. A proud native houstonian, and a graduate of Lamar H.s and a current student at Texas Southern University. DJ UrbnLgnd has maintained a solid reputation throughout the years because of his uncanny ability to make the next song better than the last, and his unparalleled business skills. To say the least, DJ UrbnLgnd has an eclectic music library, from Eric Clapton to Pharell, and everything in between. With work at clubs like Level, Pi Lounge, Next, and Heat, and countless amounts of parties and events. And Production and mixtapes on the horizon, there is no doubt that he will conquer these mediums as well. His experience is the difference maker, his work ethic is his edge, but the best is yet to come!

Netbooks+2050=Extinct

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

I truly believe that a person is only as good as their options. The options and capabilities are my main concern when it comes to technology. Especially since there has been such great strides in technology in recent years. Even though their intentions might be good, the Netbook industry is not a major help to personal computing. I see it as a fad.

A netbook’s key feature is portability and mobile internet access. They are also come at a fraction of the cost of a full size laptop. These benefits seem to be convenient, they flood the market with unnecessary products. The manufacturers should focus on full size laptops and progressing the technology of them instead of back tracking.

Most netbooks lack a CD drive and processing power to accomplish moderate to advanced computing task. They fail in comparison to full size laptops. The netbook might be something for young users, and for word processing, but the future of netbooks is bleak.

The future of personal computing is going toward options and power, not miniature processors that don’t have all of the features a full size laptop offers.
