Netbooks+2050=Extinct

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

I truly believe that a person is only as good as their options. The options and capabilities are my main concern when it comes to technology. Especially since there has been such great strides in technology in recent years. Even though their intentions might be good, the Netbook industry is not a major help to personal computing. I see it as a fad.

A netbook’s key feature is portability and mobile internet access. They are also come at a fraction of the cost of a full size laptop. These benefits seem to be convenient, they flood the market with unnecessary products. The manufacturers should focus on full size laptops and progressing the technology of them instead of back tracking.

Most netbooks lack a CD drive and processing power to accomplish moderate to advanced computing task. They fail in comparison to full size laptops. The netbook might be something for young users, and for word processing, but the future of netbooks is bleak.

The future of personal computing is going toward options and power, not miniature processors that don’t have all of the features a full size laptop offers.

YOU ARE GOD! Blogging at TSU!

Thursday, February 18, 2010

As you walk into the Jesse H. Jones School of Business and have a seat in your class room, and hope that no one has sat in your seat that you strategically selected in the beginning of the semester solely because it was directly in front of a wall socket. You eye your seat, and take a sigh of relief that you will maintain your sanity, because your seat is there and ready for your warm embrace.

As you swing your backpack off of your shoulder, you are stricken with a day-dream-able notion, that you are a GOD! You are literally carrying the weight of the World on your shoulder blades. The laptop that you are about to pull out of your bag is more than just pounds of plastic, metal, and God knows what other semi-toxic materials.

It is a portal to almost every iota of information in the past 2000 years at your fingertips. The internet has evolved greatly in recent years. Since the middle of the previous decades, words like Blog, and Tweets have crowded pop culture to the point where they were unavoidable. Even to the baby boomer generation who in a lack-luster attempt to be “with it” would let their off-spring know they will be checking out their “Face Space” and their “Tweeterer Accounts”. But since these awkward times for the older generation, great strides have been made, and they are beginning to embrace these social mediums at our very own Texas Southern.

In effort to reach the student body in a social-media media style that we are use to, They have the noble, but misguided idea to get rid of our current system Blackboard, and incorporate all of that data into a blog. I personally think that is a good idea, but it will not be efficient because blogs are not as interactive as, let’s say a Social Media site like Facebook. So therefore, I think there are some better options that can be explored before a blog is decided upon by the University Administration.

The Secret Word is No Longer Secret

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

The Secret word is no longer secret because....
Its on Almeda "Black Wall Street"
Its a cultural experience where young people destroy the mic with the loveliest of love poems and the angriest of social poems. Every tuesday night at 8 pm. Filled with college students, and a sprinkle of older adults. Did i mention the venue...omg, this amazing place has it all. Ambiance is soo soulful. The walls are drapped with cool splashes of coffee colored paint, and hanging are some amazing pieces of music inspired art.
Nefirtari is the lovely lady who promotes the event. A poet herself, she always has a deep, and meaningful poem at the end of the showcase.
This is not a new poetry night. It has only moved from Wings and Wings to Cafe 4212. I am glad it has, because Cafe 4212 is a first class venue.
Come by and check it out.
$3 cover for students
$5 for non students
Performers sign up between 7-8

Oh yeah, and the food is excellent. Menu is short, usually limited to a few items, but its very good. Kabobs were on the menu last night, and it was a good amount of food for a small amount.

Im gonna get back to it!

The Factor of Least Interest

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Good afternoon world!
DJ UrbnLgnd is bi Polar...and he has 2 completely different personalities.
There is joseph, the me that will emerge when i completely mature
and there is JOE-P, the Me, that is quick to act and slow to think.

SO yeah, what that had to do with anything....idk, just wanted to introduce all of me to ya'll!!!

so currently, im enjoying the Terrence Howard Album "Shine Through It"

and i finally got passed the first 4 tracks, and heard "ITS ALL GAME"

wow, this brotha dropped some KNOWLEDGE on relationships

Go listen to it! its highly intriguing.

So today, i feel real studious. Like i got to get my life in order, finally shake off the binding spirit of laziness and grasp the opportunities that face me.
Im gonna work on my dj swag. I need to get out there, and make some more dj connects. Its all in front of me....i just need to grab it and seize the experiences that i can get.

To more music...
kanye released the "Love LockDown" video
and as soon as i can get a clear video of it, i will post it to the blog.
and many more videos to come.

So question of the day.....Why do my brothas go for quantity and not quality?
and the sub question...are men naturally polygamist? Is it biologically rational for us to be monogamous?
